What happened
A twin-engine airplane was operating a local skydiving mission when it departed from Pondok Cabe Airport. Shortly after the aircraft began its climb, the crew experienced the failure of one of its engines. This loss of power resulted in a significant reduction in altitude.
The aircraft subsequently crashed in the Serpong area, situated approximately 11 km west of the departure airfield. The impact resulted in 10 fatalities, with no survivors reported among the occupants.
Findings
Official investigations concluded that the accident was triggered by an engine failure occurring during the initial climb phase, though the specific underlying reason for the mechanical malfunction remains undetermined.
