What happened
A charter flight operating between Coyhaique and Chile Chico ended in a fatal accident during its transit through the Aysén Region. While the twin engine airplane was approximately halfway through its journey, it struck the side of a mountain situated northwest of Las Horquetas. Search efforts located the wreckage on the slope of Cerro Aislado during the afternoon.
There were seven people on board the aircraft at the time of the impact, consisting of one pilot and six passengers. The accident resulted in seven fatalities.
