What happened
A twin-engine aircraft was traveling from Santa Fe de Antioquia toward Medellín when it encountered mountainous terrain under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). During the flight, the aircraft's right wing made contact with a hillside slope, leading to a subsequent crash into a dense area of trees at the base of the slope. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. Of the three people on board, including the crew and one passenger, two fatalities were recorded, while one pilot sustained serious injuries.
Findings
The accident occurred while the aircraft was operating in IMC conditions over high-altitude terrain. The flight was being conducted as part of a film production for the movie 'Barry Seal - American Traffic'.
