What happened
During the landing phase on runway 12/30, a twin-engine aircraft failed to decelerate sufficiently before the end of the 632-meter runway. The aircraft exceeded the available runway length, resulting in a runway excursion. During the overrun, the aircraft sustained significant structural damage, specifically losing its left wing. Following the impact, the wreckage ignited, leading to a post-crash fire.
Findings
- The aircraft was unable to come to a complete stop within the remaining distance of the runway.
- The impact caused the separation of the left wing.
- The incident resulted in one injury (the pilot) and no fatalities.
- The primary factor in the accident was the inability to stop within the runway limits.
