What happened
On the morning of the incident, a single-engine aircraft departed from the Rottweil-Zepfenhan Airfield, heading toward its destination at Augsburg Airport. During the flight, the pilot experienced mechanical issues with the engine. After notifying air traffic control of the situation, the pilot managed to restart the engine by engaging the electrical fuel pump.
As the flight progressed to the final approach phase for runway 07, the engine problems recurred. In an attempt to perform an emergency landing, the aircraft struck power lines and crashed into a garden. The impact occurred approximately 1,123 meters before reaching the runway threshold. The crash resulted in one serious injury to the pilot, and the aircraft was determined to be a total loss.
