What happened
During the landing phase at the Kwamalasamutu Airstrip, a twin engine aircraft experienced a loss of control. As the aircraft approached the runway, it veered off course, resulting in the separation of the undercarriage. The impact caused the plane to come to a complete stop at the site of the accident.
Following the incident, the occupants of the aircraft were assessed for injuries. The accident resulted in one serious injury sustained by the captain, while three passengers suffered minor injuries. The remaining four individuals on board were able to exit the wreckage without any harm.
Findings
The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, as it was deemed beyond repair. The primary factor in the accident was the loss of control during landing, which led to the structural failure of the landing gear.
