Accident Details
A single-engine aircraft on a charter flight from Kyzylorda to the island of Vozrozhdeniya with an intermediate stop in Bozoy crashed shortly after takeoff from Bozoy. The aircraft was carrying ten doctors and two pilots participating in a plague control program. During the initial climb, at an estimated height of 50 meters, the aircraft stalled and descended into an open field.
Occupant Outcome
All twelve occupants were rescued from the wreckage. Three passengers sustained serious injuries. One of the injured passengers died a few hours later due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
Official Findings
According to the official investigation, the probable cause of the accident was a stall and loss of control after the cargo shifted during the initial climb. Investigators determined that the cargo was not properly secured in the cabin and moved to the rear of the aircraft during the climb, causing a shift in the center of gravity. The altitude was insufficient to recover from the stall. Additionally, it was reported that the aircraft had been refueled with AI-96 motor gasoline instead of aviation fuel.
