What happened
During a routine agricultural spraying operation near Dibrova, located approximately 60 km northwest of Zhytomyr, the aircraft experienced a sudden engine fire while in flight. In response to the fire, the crew initiated an emergency descent to locate a suitable landing site.
The pilots successfully reached an open field to perform the landing. However, as the aircraft type made contact with the ground, it rolled several meters before the momentum caused the plane to overturn. The aircraft came to a final stop in an upside-down position.
Outcomes
- Both members of the crew managed to exit the wreckage following the impact.
- The two pilots sustained only minor injuries during the incident.
- The crop sprayer sustained damage that rendered it beyond repair.
