What happened
During the initial climb phase following departure from Johannesburg-Rand Airport, a single-engine aircraft experienced a sudden pitch-up motion that led to an aerodynamic stall. As the aircraft lost altitude, it struck overhead power cables before impacting the ground. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that consumed the wreckage.
Findings
- The aircraft was totally destroyed in the accident.
