A single-engine aircraft crashed into a mountain slope in the Selemja Mountain Range during a flight from Ekimchan to Chumikan.

What happened

A flight traveling from Ekimchan to Chumikan, which included a scheduled stop in Udskoye, crashed shortly after departure. The aircraft was transporting a cargo of food along with a crew of two pilots and one passenger. Approximately eight minutes into the flight, the single-engine aircraft collided with the side of Mt Bryus, a peak reaching 1,767 metres, situated within the Selemja Mountain Range. The impact occurred roughly 19 km east of the departure point in Ekimchan.

Search efforts concluded when the wreckage was located 12 days after the disappearance at an elevation of 1,560 metres. The accident resulted in three fatalities, accounting for all persons on board.
