What happened
During a scheduled patrol flight intended for fire surveying, an aircraft departed from Pobeda when the crew encountered a mechanical failure. While in flight, the engine experienced a loss of oil pressure, necessitating an immediate emergency response.
In an attempt to reach the ground safely, the crew targeted a stretch of road connecting Komsokolsk-on-Amur and Elban. The aircraft successfully reached the area near Padali, approximately 58 km from Komsomolsk, to perform an emergency landing.
Upon impact with the roadway, the aircraft sustained significant structural damage. Specifically, the left main landing gear and the left lower section of the wing were damaged. The damage to the airframe was severe enough that the aircraft was declared a total loss. Despite the impact, all three occupants managed to exit the aircraft without sustaining any injuries.
Findings
- The primary mechanical issue was identified as low oil pressure within the engine.
- The aircraft was performing a fire survey mission at the time of the incident.
