What happened
During an agricultural mission involving crop spraying, an aircraft departed from the Udarna Pratsya state farm airstrip located in the Shevchenkovo district of the Kharkov region. While performing duties at a low altitude, the pilot executed a sharp left-hand turn, which resulted in a loss of control. The aircraft subsequently crashed into a field situated approximately 2 km northwest of Slobodovka. The impact caused the total destruction of the plane and resulted in two fatalities, as both members of the flight crew perished in the accident.
Findings
Investigations into the crash identified several contributing elements related to the pilot's performance and preparation. The pilot-in-command was noted for having limited experience, with a total of only 87 flying hours on this specific aircraft type. Official conclusions determined that pilot error was the primary driver of the accident. Furthermore, investigators highlighted that inadequate flight preparation and a lack of sufficient rest for the crew were significant contributing factors to the event.
