Accident Overview
A crop-spraying flight operating from the airstrip of the sovkhoz "Udarna Pratsya" in the Shevchenkovo district of the Kharkov region ended in a crash. The pilot-in-command, described as inexperienced on the aircraft type, executed a sharp turn to the left at low altitude, during which control was lost. The airplane subsequently crashed in a field located 2 km northwest of the settlement of Slobodovka.
Fatalities and Damage
Both pilots on board were killed, and the aircraft was destroyed in the impact and subsequent fire.
Investigation Findings
The official investigation determined that the pilot-in-command had accumulated only 87 flying hours on this type of aircraft. The accident was attributed to errors committed by the pilot-in-command. Contributing factors included poor flight preparation and an insufficient period of rest time prior to the flight.
