What happened
Following a flight demonstration in Terbuny, the aircraft was performing a return flight to its home base located in Gryazi. During the initial climb phase after departing the runway, the aircraft suffered a loss of engine power. This loss of thrust prevented the aircraft from maintaining its necessary altitude.
As the flight progressed with insufficient power, the aircraft struggled to gain sufficient height and subsequently struck power cables. The impact forced the aircraft into an open field, where the crash occurred. Despite the severity of the impact, all nine occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft without injury. The aircraft was determined to be a total loss due to damage sustained during the accident.
Findings
- The primary factor in the accident was the loss of engine power during the climb phase.
