Accident Details
On a cargo flight from Medellín to Montería, a twin-engine aircraft departed Medellín-Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport at 1745 local time. The flight carried two pilots and a cargo of bovine embryos.
Flight History
The aircraft climbed to FL130 for the journey to Montería. After reaching that altitude, the crew was cleared to begin their descent toward Montería-Los Garzones Airport. While descending through approximately 7,500 feet, the aircraft went out of control. It subsequently crashed in an open field in Vereda Arroyo, near the municipality of Planeta Rica.
Aftermath
The impact caused the complete disintegration of the aircraft. Both pilots were killed in the accident.

The official investigation determined the probable cause as a loss of control in altitude for undetermined reasons.
