What happened
A cargo operation departing from Medellín-Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport ended in a fatal accident during its descent toward Montería. The flight, which was transporting a shipment of bovine embryos, departed at 17:45 local time. After reaching an altitude of 13,000 feet, the crew received clearance to begin their approach to Montería-Los Garzones Airport.
While the aircraft was descending at approximately 7,500 feet, it experienced a sudden loss of control. The aircraft subsequently struck an open field in the Verada Arroyo area, situated near Planeta Rica. The force of the impact caused the aircraft to disintegrate. There were two fatalities among the crew, as both pilots were killed in the crash.
