What happened
On a scheduled flight from Petrolina Airport to Salvador, a twin-engine aircraft departed at 12:21 local time. The flight was transporting two pilots and two passengers, along with cargo consisting of bags containing banking documents.
During the cruise phase of the flight at 13:32 local time, the crew notified Air Traffic Control regarding an engine failure. In response to the emergency, the captain initiated a descent to a lower altitude to attempt an emergency landing. During this maneuver, the aircraft entered a right turn and struck a field in the vicinity of São Sebastião do Passé, situated approximately 50 km northwest of Salvador Airport. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and four fatalities.
