Accident Details
On 1 March 2001, at 0900Z, a Cessna 210N aircraft registered as ZS-KNK was involved in an accident while landing on Runway 09 at Caia, Mozambique. The flight originated from Beira, Mozambique, with the next intended landing at Caia. Sequence of Events
According to the pilot, he landed on Runway 09 at a speed of 70 knots. He was unable to achieve sufficient brake response to stop the aircraft. The pilot attempted to maintain directional control while the rudder remained effective. The aircraft departed the runway surface, entering the grass area behind the runway. It then suddenly veered to the left and ran off the grass into a ditch.
