What happened
The incident occurred immediately following departure from Balranald. During the initial climb phase, the powerplant experienced a total loss of function. Unable to maintain altitude or control, the aircraft descended rapidly and impacted the ground. The impact resulted in the complete destruction of the airframe. The pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained injuries during the crash.

Official investigations identified the primary factor as an engine failure occurring shortly after takeoff. This mechanical malfunction prevented the aircraft from continuing its flight path, leading directly to the subsequent accident.
