What happened

On the afternoon of the accident, a single-engine aircraft departed from Freiburg im Breisgau Airport at 12:16 local time, bound for Vienna-Schwechat Airport. The flight was operated with one pilot and five passengers on board. After approximately 15 minutes of flight time, the aircraft reached its designated altitude of 8,000 feet.

Shortly after reaching this altitude, the aircraft began an uncontrolled descent. The plane crashed in the area of Wiedener Eck, located near Wieden. Upon impact, the aircraft disintegrated. There were six fatalities recorded, as all occupants of the aircraft perished in the crash. No distress signal was transmitted by the pilot prior to the impact.
