What happened
During a flight originating from Brussels and destined for Oxford (Kidlington), the aircraft was performing a visual straight-in approach to Runway 01. At the time of the approach, surface winds were recorded at 030 degrees with a speed of 15 knots. As the aircraft reached the airfield boundary, it began a roll toward the left side. Shortly after this movement began, the aircraft impacted the ground at a location west of the runway threshold.
Findings
An investigation into the incident failed to uncover any mechanical or technical failures that could account for the sudden leftward roll. While no definitive evidence was found to explain the maneuver, investigators noted several possibilities. It is possible that the aircraft became uncontrollable during a power adjustment intended to correct the flight path, or perhaps during an attempt at a late go-around. Additionally, the possibility of an unidentified distraction within the cockpit was considered. No specific cause for the loss of control was conclusively determined.
