Fatal Go-Around Accident at São Luís-Marechal Cunha Machado Airport (PP-PDX)

Incident Overview and Sequence of Events An aircraft was on final approach to São Luís-Marechal Cunha Machado Airport when the pilot-in-command initiated a go-around at an altitude of 90 meters. During the subsequent climb, the aircraft entered a high nose-up attitude and subsequently stalled. The aircraft then banked to the right and impacted the ground in flames approximately 760 meters to the right of the established approach path. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft, and all 23 occupants on board were killed. Post-impact reports indicated that the right engine did not develop any power at the time of impact.
