Incident
On 8 November 2020 at 10:00 local time, a Robin DR 400/180 aircraft (registration HB-KFN) was departing from Bex Aerodrome (LSGB) on runway 33 for a flight to Locarno Aerodrome (LSZL) under Visual Flight Rules. The pilot aborted the takeoff, but the aircraft overran the end of the runway and collided with trees.
Aircraft and Crew
The aircraft, a Robin DR 400/180 manufactured by Avions Pierre Robin S.A., was owned and operated by Groupe de vol à moteur du Chablais. The flight was a private operation with one pilot and three passengers on board.
Damage
The aircraft sustained light damage. No injuries were reported among the crew, passengers, or third parties. There was no ground damage.
Investigation
The Swiss Safety Investigation Service (SESE) opened an investigation and issued a preliminary information report on 30 November 2020. The probable cause of the incident has not been determined at this stage.
