What happened
On July 1, 1964, a Jodel D-11, registration HB-SUD, was involved in an accident at the Speck-Fehraltorf airfield. Following the completion of its landing, the aircraft veered sideways off the runway. During this excursion, the aircraft struck a mowing machine located at the edge of the runway.
The investigation
The investigation established the sequence of events leading to the collision. It was determined that the aircraft's movement away from the runway centerline occurred after the landing phase was completed. The impact resulted in significant damage to the Jodel D-11, while the mowing equipment sustained minor damage.
