What happened
During a flight near Grønholt Airport, the flight crew encountered an unforeseen operational challenge that necessitated an immediate emergency descent. In an effort to manage the situation, the pilot directed the aircraft toward a nearby pasture to perform an unplanned landing.
Upon making contact with the ground in the field, the aircraft type sustained catastrophic structural failure, specifically losing both of its wings during the impact. Despite the severity of the crash and the destruction of the airframe, there were zero injuries reported among those on board.
Findings
- The crew was forced to deviate from their planned flight path due to an unexpected in-flight event.
- The landing occurred in a pasture rather than a prepared runway.
- The primary cause of the structural disintegration was the impact with the terrain during the emergency touchdown.
