What happened
Upon completing the landing phase at Cuiabá-Marechal Rondon Airport, the flight crew initiated standard braking protocols. Shortly after the aircraft made contact with the runway, the crew deactivated the reverse thrust mechanism. Following this action, the aircraft experienced a loss of directional control and drifted toward the right side of the runway.
As the excursion continued, the aircraft's landing gear separated from the airframe. The movement ended several dozen meters away from the runway surface. Although the aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, all 15 occupants managed to exit the wreckage without sustaining any injuries.
Findings
- The loss of control occurred immediately following the deactivation of the reverse thrust system during the landing roll.
