What happened
A twin-engine cargo flight departed from Timika Airport at 10:36 local time, bound for Ilaga. The aircraft was transporting 1.7 tons of rice and was carrying a crew of four along with one passenger. During the flight, the crew provided an estimated time of arrival for Ilag Airport at 10:54 local time. However, communication with the aircraft was lost approximately six minutes after that update.
Following the loss of contact, search and rescue operations were launched to locate the missing plane. Four days after the disappearance, wreckage was discovered in a mountainous region at an altitude of 4,115 meters, situated roughly 10 km from Kampung Mamontoga. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft type and there were four fatalities among the occupants.
