What happened
During an approach to Ratanakiri Airport, an aircraft experienced a runway excursion while attempting to land. As the aircraft was touching down, it made contact with the right side of the runway. The force of this impact caused the right main landing gear to collapse, leading to a loss of directional control.
Following the gear failure, the aircraft drifted off the paved surface and eventually came to a stop. Despite the severity of the impact and the subsequent damage to the airframe, there were no casualties. All 65 occupants successfully evacuated the aircraft without sustaining any injuries. The aircraft itself was determined to be a total loss due to damage sustained during the incident.
Findings
At this time, the specific reason for the aircraft striking the side of the runway remains undetermined. The primary mechanical consequence of the impact was the collapse of the right main landing gear.
