Serious Incident Involving Tecnam P2008 JC YL-EVA at Ādaži Airfield

Overview and Investigation Authority On 1 September 2020, a serious aviation incident occurred at Ādaži airfield (EVAD) involving a Tecnam P2008 JC, registration YL-EVA, operated by SIA ERIVA. The Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau of the Republic of Latvia (TNGIIB) investigated the event. The bureau is functionally independent from Latvian aviation institutions and conducts investigations to improve flight safety and prevent recurrence, in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 and EU Regulation 996/2010. The investigation is not intended to assign blame or liability. TNGIIB was notified by airfield personnel and dispatched investigators to the scene. The aircraft was later moved to an Ādaži airfield hangar for preservation and further examination.
