Shortly after takeoff from São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport, while in initial climb, the aircraft went out of control and crashed in a wooded area close to the airfield. Both pilots were killed. There were engaged in a local training mission when the accident occurred.
Probable cause (official findings): Loss of control shortly after rotation caused by an engine failure.

The crew was performing a local training exercise out of Fort McLeod on behalf of the 7th SFTS. While cruising at night, weather conditions deteriorated and the crew failed to localize the airport. Flying in poor visibility due to heavy rain falls, the airplane impacted a hill and crashed some 19 km southwest of Fort McLeod Airport.
