Aercap signs 85 leases and completes 34 purchases in third quarter

Leasing company Aercap added Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft to its portfolio in the third quarter while selling 65 aircraft, 13 engines and seven helicopters.

Aercap signed 85 leasing contracts in the third quarter, the lessor said. They covered 16 widebody aircraft, 45 narrowbody aircraft, 13 engines and eleven helicopters.

The company also completed 34 purchase transactions involving 32 jets and two helicopters. Its own portfolio gained eight Airbus A320neo family aircraft, 20 Boeing 737 Max, two Boeing 787-9 and two Embraer E195-E2.

Over the same period Aercap sold 65 aircraft, 13 engines and seven helicopters. From its own portfolio it sold 15 Airbus A320, four A320neo, one A321 freighter, three A330, three A350, seven Boeing 737 NG, two 737 Max, nine 767 freighters, two 777-200ER, four Embraer E190 and two E195-E2. Another 13 aircraft came from its managed portfolio.

Eleven of the engines sold came from Aercap's own portfolio and two from the managed portfolio.
