Pratt & Whitney Canada signs long-term engine component deal with Bharat Forge

Pratt & Whitney Canada has awarded India-based Bharat Forge a long-term contract to manufacture aerospace engine components, the latest in a series of collaborations between the two companies.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has awarded Bharat Forge a long-term contract for aerospace engine components. Manufacturing will take place at the Indian company's aerospace facility. Bharat Forge announced the agreement on 5 October.

Neither company said which parts Bharat Forge will make, which engine programmes the contract covers, what it is worth, or how long it runs. Amit Kalyani, Bharat Forge's vice-chairman and joint managing director, said the deal reflects the company's work to advance India's aerospace manufacturing expertise. P&WC vice-president of supply chain Nathalie Rivet said it will help the engine maker broaden its supplier network by increasing sourcing from India. She described it as part of efforts to build a supply chain that supports customers and future growth.

The announcement follows two other collaborations between the firms since July 2025. On 15 September, the two agreed to assess whether P&WC turboprop engines could be used on a high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned air vehicle under development by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation. P&WC would evaluate engine compatibility, installation needs and performance, while Bharat Forge would handle integration of the engine with the airframe.

In July 2025, Bharat Forge said it planned to build an aerospace ring mill in Baramati after signing contracts to supply P&WC with aerospace components.
