Air Baltic to supply Air Niugini with up to 30 A220 pilots
Air Baltic will provide up to 30 experienced Airbus A220 pilots to Air Niugini over a twelve-month period, with up to 15 Air Baltic pilots flying for the Papua New Guinea carrier at any one time.
Air Baltic will provide Air Niugini with as many as 30 experienced Airbus A220 pilots under an agreement that initially runs for twelve months. The arrangement is meant to support the Papua New Guinea airline as it expands its fleet.
Up to 15 Air Baltic pilots will be assigned to Air Niugini at any one time during that period, with rotations scheduled to last 28 days each.
Those pilots will fly alongside Air Niugini crews and help with training and sharing experience on the Airbus A220.
Air Niugini flies three A220-300s on domestic and international routes, including Cairns and Sydney. In 2027, it expects to receive eight A220-100s.
