Air Force F-15EX and Strike Eagle basing plans shift
The US Air Force will base F-15EX fighters at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and transfer Strike Eagles to a B-2 stealth bomber base, according to a new report.
The Air Force has updated its plan for deploying F-15EX Eagle II fighters and F-15E Strike Eagles. F-15EX aircraft will be assigned to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina. At the same time, F-15E Strike Eagles will move to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, which is home to B-2 Spirit stealth bombers. The F-15EX is intended to replace aging F-15C/D models and later recapitalize the F-15E fleet. The Air Force plans to buy 267 F-15EX fighters.
