Embraer delivers 2,000th E-Jet to Azul

Embraer has delivered its 2,000th E-Jet, the Brazilian manufacturer said on September 2, 2026. The aircraft, an E175-E2, went to Azul Linhas Aéreas, also based in Brazil and a long-standing Embraer customer. The first E-Jet, an E175, entered service with LOT Polish Airlines in March 2004, 22 years ago.

According to Embraer, the E-Jet family has served over 90 airlines in more than 60 countries, accumulating around 48 million flight hours. The family began with the E170, E175, E190, and E195 in the 2000s, followed by the second-generation E190-E2 and E195-E2 in the late 2010s.

Embraer called the milestone a landmark achievement. Commercial Aviation CEO Arjan Meijer said the E-Jets family is one of the world's three most successful commercial jet programs. Azul has operated more than 140 E-Jets since its launch in 2008 and was the launch customer for the E195-E2, taking its first aircraft in 2019. The delivery of the 2,000th E-Jet also marks Azul's 50th E2 aircraft, according to Embraer.
