Air India raises fuel surcharges on domestic and international routes
Air India and Air India Express are raising fuel surcharges in response to higher jet fuel prices, with the new amounts applying to bookings made from October 9.

Air India and Air India Express are increasing their fuel surcharges because of higher kerosene prices. The two carriers announced the change on Thursday, October 8, and the new surcharges apply to bookings made from October 9.
On domestic flights, passengers will pay between 400 and 1,200 Indian rupees per sector, depending on distance. That is roughly 3.70 to 11.10 euros.
On international routes the surcharge for North America rises from 200 to 215 US dollars, about 191 euros. For Australia it goes from 200 to 210 dollars, around 187 euros. Europe, including the United Kingdom, moves from 125 to 135 dollars, roughly 121 euros. For West Asia and the Middle East the surcharge increases from 50 to 55 dollars, about 49 euros.
Each surcharge applies per sector.
