Air National Guard First to Receive New F-15EX Fighters

The Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Wing has received the first two operational Boeing F-15EX Eagle II jets, making it the first Air National Guard unit to get a new weapons system before active-duty forces.

The Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Wing showed off its first two operational Boeing F-15EX Eagle II fighters on July 12, 2024, at Portland Air National Guard Base. It is the first time the U.S. Air Force has handed a brand-new weapons system to the Air National Guard before the active-duty force. The 142nd Wing is now the country's first mission-ready F-15EX unit, ahead of any active-duty wing.
