Air Tahiti Nui cleared to sell stake in Tahiti Nui Helicopters
French Polynesia's competition authority has approved Air Tahiti Nui's sale of its majority stake in Tahiti Nui Helicopters to Tavake SAS. The carrier expects to close the deal by the end of October.
Air Tahiti Nui has been cleared by French Polynesia's competition authority to sell its stake in Tahiti Nui Helicopters. Tavake SAS is the buyer. The airline said it expects to close the deal by the end of October, after a strategic review that it said would let it focus on long-haul flying.
Tahiti Nui Helicopters was founded in 2018 as a joint venture between Air Tahiti Nui and HBG Hélicoptères. As of 2025, Air Tahiti Nui held 68.5 percent of the shares. The government of French Polynesia held 14.8 percent, HBG Hélicoptères 9.1 percent and the state investment company Sofidep 7.6 percent.
