Airbus and Boeing delivery figures outpace previous year

Airbus and Boeing have both reported higher aircraft deliveries so far this year than in the same period of 2025. Airbus has handed over 475 aircraft year-to-date, up from 434 a year earlier. Boeing has delivered 418 aircraft so far in 2026, compared with 385 at this point last year.

August was a slower month for both. Airbus delivered 57 aircraft in August 2026, down from 67 in July and below the 61 delivered in August 2025. The company said it delivered 57 aircraft to 31 customers. Among those was an A330neo for Starlux Airlines, the first delivery of that type since August 2025. Deliveries of the A330neo were paused in June and July while Airbus inspected the aircraft's horizontal tail plane after a tool was found in the structure of one aircraft before delivery, according to Reuters.

Boeing delivered 51 aircraft in August 2026, down from 53 in July and below the 57 delivered in August 2025. Dreamliner deliveries fell to four in August, from 10 in July and 13 in June.

On orders, Airbus received 67 new aircraft orders in August, including a 40-aircraft order from Shenzhen Airlines for A321neos and an order for eight A350 freighters from an undisclosed customer. Boeing received orders for 15 aircraft from four undisclosed customers.
