Airbus recommends tail inspections on 139 delivered A330neos after tool found
Airbus is advising inspections of 139 delivered A330neo aircraft after a tool was found inside one jet's horizontal tail structure during production. The manufacturer says there is no immediate safety concern.

Airbus wants extra inspections on 139 A330neo aircraft already delivered to airlines, after a tool was found inside the horizontal tail structure of one aircraft during production. The checks cover jets handed over from 2021 through the end of May 2026, so they reach beyond aircraft still at Airbus facilities.
According to the manufacturer, there is no immediate safety concern. Airbus says it can show that an aircraft remains safe to fly even if a similar tool is present.
Airbus and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency are working out how the inspections will be carried out. A further update is expected in mid-November.
