Tecnam appoints Giovanni Pascale Langer as chief executive
Italian planemaker Tecnam has handed the chief executive role to Giovanni Pascale Langer, with Paolo Pascale Langer moving into the presidency. Both changes took effect on 8 October.
Tecnam has appointed Giovanni Pascale Langer as chief executive, with Paolo Pascale Langer moving into the role of president. The Italian manufacturer said the changes took effect on 8 October, placing a third generation of the Pascale family in charge of the Capua-based company.
Giovanni Pascale Langer started at Tecnam as an apprentice assembler and later worked across several departments. He holds commercial pilot licences in Italy and the United States, became managing director in 2019, and has since led international commercial development and operations at the company's Italian and U.S. sites. That year he flew a P2012 Traveller across the Atlantic to hand over the first example to its launch customer in Boston.
Paolo Pascale Langer, who has led the company for years, remains involved as president. In a company statement he compared the handover to the words used in a cockpit when control of an aircraft changes hands. He said he was passing it to Giovanni with confidence and pride.
Founded in 1948, Tecnam states it has delivered more than 8,500 aircraft to customers in over 60 countries. Its line-up includes the P-Mentor trainer, the P2006T light twin and the P2012 Traveller. The manufacturer has been building its position in the American training market and recently announced a U.S. introduction for the P2008JC NG trainer, along with plans to seek FAA Part 23 validation.
Under the new structure, Giovanni Pascale Langer will handle international expansion, further products and services, digitalisation and changes to manufacturing. The company said the transition brings no changes to its existing aircraft programmes or certification schedules.
