Alaska Airlines flew across the Atlantic for the first time in April 2026, with nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Rome Fiumicino on a Boeing 787-9 inherited from Hawaiian Airlines.
Daily year-round service to London Heathrow followed by the end of May on the same widebody type, along with daily seasonal service to Reykjavík Keflavik on a Boeing 737 MAX 8, according to the source.
Before September 2024 the airline had never operated a widebody aircraft. Within roughly a year and a half it was running three transatlantic routes, using two aircraft types on three different operating schedules.
