Lufthansa unveils new Oktoberfest dirndl crew uniforms for 2026
Lufthansa is dressing its traditional Oktoberfest cabin crews in newly designed tracht featuring airline branding elements for the 2026 festival season. The first flights with the new outfits depart Munich on 19 September.
Lufthansa's Oktoberfest cabin crews will wear a new version of the traditional Bavarian dress, made by the Lower Bavarian manufacturer Spieth & Wensky. For the first time the tracht carries airline design details: the crane logo on the buttons and the carrier's wing pattern.
The uniforms debut on 19 September on flights from Munich to Bangalore and Beijing, with a flight to Singapore on 27 September. These trachtenflüge, or traditional-costume flights, have been part of the airline's calendar for 20 years.
Lufthansa is extending the theme to its catering as well. In September, selected long-haul services from Munich and Frankfurt will serve Oktoberfest dishes. Business class passengers on continental routes get a corresponding menu for a limited period, and the airline's German lounges will serve Bavarian food and beer.
