Alaska Airlines to launch Seattle flights to Paris and Athens in 2027

Alaska Airlines announced new seasonal service from Seattle to Athens and Paris starting in 2027, expanding its transatlantic network.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Alaska Airlines said it will begin nonstop service from Seattle to Athens and Paris in 2027, adding to its growing roster of European destinations. According to the airline, flights to Athens will start first, on May 12, 2027, operating three times a week through October of that year. Alaska said the Athens route will make it the only carrier flying between the U.S. West Coast and the Greek capital, and it will also be the airline's longest route in any market.

Service to Paris is scheduled to begin on May 25, 2027, with five weekly flights running through October 2027. The airline said both routes will be operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, and tickets for both destinations are already available for purchase.

The announcement builds on Alaska's earlier expansion into Europe, which began with the launch of nonstop flights between Seattle and Rome, according to the airline. It later added connections to London and Reykjavik, Iceland, during the spring. With the addition of Athens and Paris, Alaska continues to grow its long-haul international presence from its Seattle hub, positioning the carrier as a more prominent player in transatlantic travel from the U.S. West Coast.
