Albertelli to succeed Eddy as Pratt & Whitney president in January

Jill Albertelli will become president of Pratt & Whitney on 1 January 2027, succeeding Shane Eddy, the company said on 15 September. Albertelli has run the Connecticut engine maker's military engines business since late 2021.

Eddy became president in 2022 and is retiring after a 40-year career. He has been chief operations officer, and earlier held a vice-president and general manager post for turboshaft and turboprop engines at GE Aerospace and worked at the helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky. He will remain at Pratt & Whitney through March 2027 as a special advisor to support the transition.

RTX chief executive Chris Calio called Albertelli a seasoned and highly respected leader with more than three decades of experience across nearly every part of the business. Her record and knowledge of the company and its customers made her the right choice to lead it, he said.

Albertelli currently oversees Pratt & Whitney's main defence programmes: the F135 engine that powers Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter, its work on sixth-generation adaptive-cycle engines, and the engine for Northrop Grumman's B-21 bomber. She previously led its global transformation and strategy team, and the company said her experience covers engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, supply chain management, commercial programmes, sales, maintenance and repair operations, and strategy. She holds an engineering degree from Boston University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
