Amazon Air 767 freighter crashes in Texas, killing at least five on ground

An Amazon Air Boeing 767-300 freighter crashed while landing at a Texas airport on Sunday, September 6. The aircraft, registered N1997A, broke through a security fence and concrete barriers, crossed a four-lane road, and came to rest burning about 400 meters beyond the paved area. At least five people were killed and five others injured. All of the fatalities were in vehicles, according to the US National Transportation Safety Board. The aircraft struck a minibus carrying employees of Professional Ocean Service Corporation, a cleaning company that works for airlines, according to CNN. The minibus was on airport property. A small SUV struck by the aircraft was outside the airport grounds. Both pilots were rescued from the cockpit; their condition is unclear. The NTSB is investigating the accident.
