American Airlines will add a third Venezuelan destination, flying three times a week between Miami and Barcelona in the country's east from 15 January 2027. The flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Embraer E175 aircraft and will be the airline's first link to the city.

The route builds on American's return to Venezuela earlier this year. According to the airline, it became the first US carrier to resume flights to the country since 2019 when it restarted service in early 2026. It currently flies from Miami to Caracas twice daily and to Maracaibo once a day.

The new Barcelona service will bring American to 24 weekly flights between the United States and Venezuela in total.
