Qantas Freight adds three A321P2Fs as Australia Post partnership grows
Qantas Freight is adding three more Airbus A321 passenger-to-freighter aircraft, with the first already flying and the remaining two due by March 2027. The jets replace its BAE 146-300 freighters.

Qantas Freight has added three Airbus A321 passenger-to-freighter aircraft as it expands its work with Australia Post, the carrier said. The first, registered VH-XF7, is already in service. The other two are due by March 2027.
All three will fly domestic cargo services for Australia Post, including operations from Western Sydney International airport. That airport has started round-the-clock cargo flights ahead of passenger services beginning on 25 October.
The extra capacity arrives before the year-end peak season, which takes in Black Friday and Christmas. According to Qantas, the aircraft will add up to 20% capacity across its dedicated freighter fleet.
The A321P2Fs replace three smaller BAE 146-300s. The carrier says the Airbus jets carry more than twice the cargo of the BAE 146s.
VH-XF7 previously flew passengers with China Southern Airlines, which took delivery of the aircraft in 2007. It was withdrawn from use earlier in 2026 and sent for conversion.
Qantas Freight was the launch operator of the A321P2F, taking its first example in 2020. With the latest arrival, its fleet stands at seven of the type.
