Arkia wet-leases A330-300 for Tel Aviv-New York as Israir launches JFK flights
Arkia has introduced a wet-leased Airbus A330-300 on the Tel Aviv-New York route, while Israir Group began its own JFK services on 15 September using two A330-200s. Three Israeli carriers now compete on the sector.

Arkia has put an Airbus A330-300 into service on the Tel Aviv-New York sector, the leisure carrier's entry into a transatlantic market where three Israeli airlines now compete.
The aircraft is wet-leased from Hi Fly and is Maltese-registered as 9H-HFA. It is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines and configured for 245 passengers, 45 of them in business class. According to Arkia, the cabin offers what it describes as superior amenities, a multimedia system and chef-prepared in-flight meals.
Israir Group began its own New York JFK flights on 15 September, the company's first widebody operation. It has acquired two Trent-powered A330-200s, registered 4X-BAK and 4X-BAL, with JFK as the initial transatlantic destination.
El Al, the Israeli flag-carrier, already serves JFK with a mix of Boeing 777s and 787s.
