ASL Airlines Australia to end BAE 146 operations in late October

ASL Airlines Australia will stop flying its BAE 146 fleet for Qantas Freight on 30 October, likely ending the last regular service of the four-engine regional jet in the country after National Jet Express retired its aircraft in September.

ASL Airlines Australia will stop flying the BAE 146 on 30 October, when the type ends operations for Qantas Freight. The airline has eight of the aircraft, most already parked. Six are freighters and two are configured for passengers.

The fleet's retirement has not been announced publicly, but the company confirmed the end-of-October date to its pilots and their union. It is expected to close out the last scheduled use of the four-engine regional jet in Australia, after National Jet Express retired its own BAE 146 fleet in September.
