Austrian Airlines Puts First A320neo With Starlink Into Service
Austrian Airlines has begun operating its first aircraft equipped with Lufthansa Group's new Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, a factory-fresh Airbus A320neo that flew to Porto on Monday.
Austrian Airlines has put its first aircraft with Starlink internet into regular service. The brand-new Airbus A320neo, registered OE-LXF, left for Porto on Monday on its first scheduled flight. Passengers on this aircraft can use the new high-speed Wi-Fi.
The airline plans to fit 20 aircraft with Starlink by the end of the winter 2026/27 schedule. Access is free for Miles & More members and Travel ID users, regardless of travel class. Voice and video calls and livestreams from the aircraft are not permitted. Passengers must use headphones for audio and video content.
OE-LXF is the first of six additional factory-new A320neos for Austrian. The jets each offer 180 seats. They are part of a fleet modernization that will see 17 Embraer jets leave the fleet by 2029. The next of the six new A320neos will also get Starlink. Lufthansa Group plans to equip around 850 aircraft across its airlines with the satellite internet.
