Aviation groups form coalition on EU biometric travel rules
Five travel and aviation organisations have formed the Responsible Biometrics Travel Industry Coalition, urging EU policymakers to shape the Digital Omnibus around voluntary, secure biometric travel.

ACI EUROPE, Amadeus, IATA, IDEMIA Public Security and SITA have set up the Responsible Biometrics Travel Industry Coalition, according to an announcement from the group. The coalition is asking EU policymakers to make sure the Digital Omnibus supports the use of biometrics in travel on a voluntary basis.
The group says it wants an approach to biometric travel that is fair and responsible, and that protects passenger choice, privacy and fundamental rights.
The coalition did not set out specific amendments or a timetable in the announcement.
